Forza D'Agrò

Where to park in Forza d'Agrò:

Once you arrive in the town of Forza d'Agrò, you can park in Piazza Cammareri or along the various streets within the blue lines, which are subject to charges.

What to see and do in Forza d'Agrò:

Forza d'Agrò is located 450 meters above sea level, and one of the places to visit is Piazza Giovanni XXII, which offers a beautiful panoramic view. We'll start from this square (A) to tour the town, passing by its most important sites. Before leaving the square, we'll visit the Church of San Francesco (2), a former convent dating back to the 16th century. Leaving the square, follow the green route indicated on the map, passing by the Duomo, a church dating back to the 1400s that served as a filming location for "The Godfather" in the scene where Marlon Brando got married. From here, continue to begin the tour in the Quartarello neighborhood, also known as a ghost town because it is uninhabited. A place of stone houses, stairways, narrow alleys, and evocative panoramic views beneath the castle. This neighborhood is the oldest part of the town. You should follow the green route as you wish, taking:

  • Via Roma;
  • Vico I di Via Roma;
  • Via Grutta;
  • Vico I di Via Grutta;
  • Via Gruffa;
  • Via Laino;
  • Via dei Normanni;
  • Via A. Manzoni;

After completing your tour of the neighborhood, return to Piazza Cammareri and take Via Sant'Agostino to reach the Church of the Holy Trinity, a building dating back to the 15th century. Finally, I recommend visiting the cemetery, which is within the castle walls and near another ghost town called Borgo Magghia, and the public villa (8), located on the road out of town.
